Context

made by stolley runs alongside the group and launch work, and has done since before the group work existed. This is where the independent creative voice lives: not briefed, not templated, not built for someone else's room.

The Indonesian thread is the spine of it. Not fusion. Not approximation. An honest engagement with the food culture: babi guling, rendang logic, the ferment-forward, acid-bright flavour language of the archipelago, adapted for Melbourne rooms and Bali nights and a Jakarta omakase that sold out at 25 seats a night for two weeks.

Japfa, Jakarta — 12-course sold-out omakase residency, January 2023. 25 seats per night, two weeks. A room that knew what it was eating.

Warkop, Richmond — week-long shop takeover with an Indonesian-leaning sandwich menu.
